Why we exist
The Australian Salon Awards are a not-for-profit venture that was created to recognise local salon businesses all over Australia for their achievements and connect them with leaders in the wellness and beauty industries.
Who can enter
Any registered business that fits the eligibility criteria can be nominated. Once a business was nominated, it will go through an approval process to ensure it is, in fact, eligible.
How are winners selected?
The Salon Awards are a people’s choice award where all winners are chosen using a public vote. Once a business has been approved for participation, people can vote online here.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible to enter the Australian Salon Awards, a business must fit the below eligible criteria. After a business is nominated, it will go through an approval process to ensure all criteria are met.
Eligible Business Categories
The business must fit one or more of the following categories:
- Hair Salon
- Eyebrow Salon
- Nail Salon
- Massage Salon
- Day SPA
- Tanning Salon
Registered Business
The business must be officially registered in Australia with an active ABN.
Physical Location
The business must have a physical location. Home businesses or businesses that solely provide mobile services are not eligible.
Nominations
Voting is open from 01 March – 30 April 2022. Businesses can be nominated anytime before or during the official voting period.

Who can enter the awards?
Any business that meets the eligibility criteria outlined on this page can enter. Businesses can be nominated by the general public or by the business owner.
How many winners will be selected?
At the end of the official voting period, one winner will be chosen in each category, based on a public vote.

In addition, the business with the most votes will receive an award for:
- Australian Salon Business of the Year
Who will select the winners?
All winners will be selected based on the number of public votes. This will give every business a fair chance to win.
Can I vote for more than one business?
Yes, you are welcome to vote for multiple businesses. However, you can only submit one vote for each business. Any attempts of fraudulent voting may result in all your votes being removed and potential disqualification of the businesses involved.
We take these awards seriously and want to keep the voting process fair for all involved.
Can a business be nominated for more than one category?
Each business can be nominated for up to two categories, as long as proof can be provided that it operates in each of the categories it has been nominated for.
What happens after the winners are selected?
Once voting ends and the winners have been selected, the winning businesses will be contacted directly and provided with a Digital Salon Awards Pack.
The pack will include the official award badges that can be displayed on your website and in print materials. Showcasing your awards is a great way to boost credibility and generate additional exposure for your business.
As an award winner, you will also be featured on the official Salon Awards website, as well as in any press releases sent to various media outlets.
